Sunday Night Yams at Minnie and Earl's

I have to admit that the description of the story sounded really stupid to me, but I was intrigued because I love most of what this author has written. And indeed, it turned out that I really enjoyed this story, and I can see why it was nominated for a Nebula Award; it captures so well the "sense of wonder" at the new and unknown, of humanity making to the Moon, of first contact with aliens who are just pleased to meet us. Recommended as a feel-good story.
