After reading "Prelude to Foundation" I soured on Asimov. It was more about the Foundation series I suppose. In hindisight this was a mistake.

The "Elijah Bailey / R. Daneel Olivaw" series and "The Naked Sun" in particular is turning me around on Asimov in an astounding (pun intended) way. Can't believe this was written in mid 1950s for a pulp audience.

"The Naked Sun" is pure Asimov as each particular social and planetary group has it's own characteristics and problems. The various groups act and react to each other according to their own particular interests. Can we say planet Earth in Covid 2020.

One could easily retitle this "Prelude To Asimov's Mystery Story Era". A very good SF mystery. "Caves of Steel" was more SF this is more and better mystery.

Oh no I feel the gravity pull of Raymond Chandler and Mickey Spillane. But still in the SF orbit so I'll be back with an update on "Robots of Dawn" and maybe "Foundation's Edge".
