In general, I do not care for novels written in correspondence or diary form. Apparently Max Brooks is the exception to the rule. Written in a similar style to his wonderful Zombie Opus, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, this book combines interviews and found documents to build the story of the destruction of an Eco-community settled the woods around Mt Rainier, at the hands of a troop of Bigfoot. I've decided to settle on Troop of Bigfoot because I do not know what the proper term for a pack of Bigfoot are and I'm not skewing my Google search engine by looking up the proper term.

I look the touch of snark, Mr. Brooks brings to the beginning of this book. All the members of the eco-community are so politically correct and woke, it is almost as if they were a satire. But when the poo hits the fan, it turns out that the community is so ill equip from a practical standpoint that there is not a ladder or, for God's sake, a hammer to be found in the entire community. It was very interesting to see how people react in a crisis, who steps up and who falls apart. If you are like me, and are "of a certain age" then you probably remember this....

I really loved this book and once I started reading could not put it down. Another smashing success for Max Brooks!
