Well, (almost) everything I mentioned for the first book of the trilogy still holds - the setting is exquisite, almost like a character itself. We continue with all the main characters (yes, Dara died at the end of book one, but he got better).

The whirlwind of activity at the end is still here, but this time it's much more announced throughout the book, and much more expected.

I also have to say that the characters of Ghassan and Manizheh are much more one-dimensional this time around. They are villains, but they don't seem to have the redeeming qualities from the first book.

Still, a very beautiful book, with strong and real scenes.
