Super-smart human adventurers travel through space-time to a different parallel universe to make a monumental discovery. Once there, they see the people of the alternate reality in grave danger, and literally set worlds in collision to save the people of their past and future from annihilation.
A typical space opera outing from Campbell, not far removed from the three-part The Dark Star Passes. Also typical, the human protagonists have all the answers right to hand, and put together the most incredible solutions within days and weeks. If you set aside some of the timing issues, the story is decent, but primitive, and typical of the era and Campbell's longer works.
If you're a huge fan of Campbell, or a completionist, then it's worth the time. If not, look elsewhere.
