Reading Abercrombie is always a treat. I do appreciate his long fiction more though. The short stories leave you with a great sense of unfinished business. This collection had some good tales. They brought back old favorites like Bethod, Logen Ninefingers (The Bloody Nine), Nikomo Cosca. I was introduced to Javre, the Lioness of Hoskopp. She is one of my favorites. She is a large red headed, foul mouthed, alcoholic, over sexed warrior!
Anyway, Ambercrombie pens some of the best dark fantasy out there and every story by him is a winner.
