The Illustrated Man

As with any Bradbury, LOVED IT!

Going into this one, I did not realize that it is actually a collection of short stories...yes, loosely connected by the brief descriptions of the "illustrated man" and his companion...and also loosely connected by theme. I picked up a sense of a collection of stories about people who were trying to get or be somewhere else, either physically or figuratively. Very clever (IMO), the way this kind of ties back to the illustrated man's companion.

Anyway, I've read one of the chapters / stories, "The Rocket," several times over now. Definitely one of my new favorite shorts. I've read it to my kids once and we had a lively discussion centered around love and deception.

Classic Bradbury. Great stuff!!!
