A slow-moving train wreck of a story. Frankenstein is a monster. I mean the doctor -- not the creature he fashions from human body parts and then animates. It's difficult to believe that Shelley wrote this when she was only 18 years old. Notwithstanding the lengthy passages of overly florid prose, the writing is simply superb. If not for the lengthy descriptive passages that do not help much in moving the story forward, this would have been a five-star read for me. Simply a marvelous achievement -- especially coming from such a young woman of 200 years ago. Amazing!
