A twisted retelling of Alice in Wonderland.

We follow the journey of Alice and Hatchet through the corrupt, boss-controlled streets of Old City. Both characters are broken. A horrific past haunts them. Although their quest concerns an evil ancient and world-devouring, all roads lead to a showdown with their personal demons.

This was a nicely told story, cleverly paced.

The first chapter describes a mundane society, where talk about Rabbit rapists can send you to the madhouse. We had a crazy axeman as a friend. All nice and normal. And then we were dragged in the underbelly of this world, where magic had power.

All our childhood characters are there. Rabbit, Jabberwocky, Cheshire, Caterpillar, Walrus and many more secondary. They are so vile though you wouldn't like any child reading about them.

All in all, a pretty dark read with excellent character development and worldbuilding. Bloody and cruel as it should be.

Kinda spoilery:

(the ending was a bit silly imho, a bit anticlimactic but still made sense going there.)
