Bella Swan is one of the most irritating heroines I have ever read. Stephenie Meyer has some interesting ideas and plot elements that she adds to the story but this one is mostly Bella whining and being excruciatingly melodramatic about not being with Edward for the majority of the book. Having to physical hold her sides so she doesn't fall apart, constantly referring to the jagged hole of emptiness in her chest because they are not together. It's grating and drags down the better elements. Not my cup of tea.
