Knight's Shadow

Better than the first book, but bleaker.

Be aware that there is more violence and torture and less humour than in "Traitor's Blade". If this disturbed you there, proceed with caution.

Otherwise excellent. Tristia sinks into Anarchy, the Greatcoats are still disbanded, allies are murdered as fast as they are found. Oh, and Falcio is dying, but won't quit fighting. His attempts to solve even a fraction of his problems make for a real page turner.

(I wonder if the battle of Aramor took place on St. Crispin's day?)

And even though things get sorted by the end - kind of - there is no closure and plenty of room to ask what happens next.

Highly recommended.
