Stranger in a Strange Land

No. Just no.

Maybe I am not hippy enough, new-agey enough, sexually open enough, but I found this nearly unreadable. The only interesting parts were short paragraphs in the first half where Valentine Michael Smith's impression of Earth was described. The descriptions of polyarmory and religion were just repellent. And there was this gem:

"Nine times out of ten, if a girl gets raped, it is at least partly her own fault."

You might want to read the book for its historical value - one can still see why it's regarded as a classic - not recommended for entertainment, though.
