Startide Rising

An extremely good novel - the dolphin starship is entirely plausible.

Note that the novel Sundiver was written afterwards as a prequel. It is NOT up to the extremely high standards of Startide Rising and The Uplift War. It is also nowhere near as good as the 3 novels of the second trilogy which followed The Uplift War. If and when I reread the series, I certainly plan to skip Sundiver.

I gave Startide Rising 4 1/2 stars because I rated it "A" when I read it.

In my rating system, a C - gets one star, and I increase by a half-star with each step up to an A+, which gets 5 stars. One half star is reserved for bombs... D+ and lower.
