Mona Clee - Branchpoint

J. R. Dunn - Days of Cain

Alan Dean Foster- Lifeform

H. Walter Whyte - Deep Freeze

Bud Sparhawk - Vixen

Done. Threre were seven authors on a list of eight books not in the database. That's the best score we'd had in a while :P

The Tekwar by Shatner you just added is the first of a 9-book series (I read the first 3 when they came out, but never bothered to continue because I didn't think they were very good.)

Yea, I assumed Lee meant the novel and not the series. If there is demand for the rest I can add them.

I read the first 3 when they came out, but never bothered to continue because I didn't think they were very good.

I did the same. What a disappointment. Especially since I thought that the quality of the Star Trek novels was starting to decline at that point, too.

Of course it turned out later that Shatner hadn't actually written them, either.

Can someone add Wintertide by Linnea Sinclair. This book was first published under the pseudonym of Megan Sybil Baker (which is the copy I have), but later re-published under Linnea Sinclair's name.

I'm not sure what the criteria for adding short fiction is, but if you are adding recent novelettes, can you add The Long Goodnight of Violet Wild by Catherynne Valente? Wish I would have read this before the Hugo nominations. Thanks!

Please add Black Hole Butterfly by salem. It is a debut novel by an indie author. She has since written a few more. It's worth reading. I have just read it and have a review to post, if you add it.

Hi, can someone please add Lives of the Monster Dogs by Kirsten Bakis?
It won the Bram Stoker award for the best first novel in 1997 and was nominated for the first novel Locus award as well.
Thanks!

@ Weesam - Wintertide is in
@piebald - Lives of Monster Dogs is in (I thought the coverart looked familiar. This book is sitting on my "long term plan" book shelf. I'll be interested to read your review on it.)
@daxxh - Right now the Uber Users are just putting in Nebula and Hugo short fiction winner/nominees. I'll check over on the forums to be sure, since I'm not involved in this project at present.
@spectru - We are currently not adding self-published, unless it is by "established" authors who later choose to self publish. but again I will check on this.

The focus for short fiction has been on the Nebula and Hugo so we can can add those awards to the site and establish a solid base of short fiction to build from.  It is not exclusive though so other shorts can be added as requested.

Self-published work is not being added at this time accept in those rare cases where a work has been nominated for an award we cover or, as BSG mentioned, they're works by established authors.

Thanks for the clarification, as you know I have been a little out of the loop for most of the year due to work restraints.

So far, all the short fiction added to the WWEnd database meets at least one (and usually two) of these criteria:

1) Hugo or Nebula nominee or winner
2) Available to read for free online from an established genre short fiction venue such as Tor.com, Lightspeed, Clarkesworld, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Strange Horizons, etc.
3) Available to purchase as an individual story (not as part of a collection or anthology)

Is it too early to add a book that will be out in November? A new book by Emmi Itaranta called The Weaver (US title)

Thanks! I really liked her Memory of Water. I'll be interested in how this second book reads.

Looks like Connie Willis has a new book coming out this year: Crosstalk. Sounds a wee bit silly but I can't pass up any of her work. Can you please add?

Hi
Horizon by Keith Stevenson doesn't appear to be listed. It's published as an ebook by HarperCollins Impulse imprint. Goodreads listing is here - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23269284-horizon and on ISFDB here - http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?504719

Thanks

This is in. Thanks for mentioning it -- I've requested it from my library now, so I will be first on the list when it comes in!
