Now that the challenge is up for 2017 published books, there are a few upcoming books I would like added:

Phantom Pains by Mishell Baker (Book 2 of The Arcadia Project) due March
Glass Predator by Craig Schaefer (Book 3 of Harmony Black) due March
Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop (Book 5 of The Others) due March
Bound by Benedict Jacka (Book 8 of Benedict Verus) due April

Thanks

Do you consider self-published books for inclusion? I have a series of books by a friend of mine who sells on Amazon that I would be interested in reading for the Women of Genre Fiction challenge this year. Her name is A.M. Offenwanger and the series is called "The Septimus Series." The books are "Seventh Son," "Cat and Mouse," and "Checkmate."

The short answer is no.  The longer answer is in the FAQ that I'll quote here:

Currently, fiction can be added to the WWEnd database if it falls into one or more of the following categories:

  • fiction which appears on one of the awards we cover
  • fiction which appears on one of the "Best of" lists we cover
  • traditionally-published speculative fiction novels, collections, and anthologies which appear in the ISFDB
  • self-published novels which are available as standalone physical volumes by established authors who are already in the WWEnd database
  • traditionally-published shorter fiction (usually novellas) which is available as standalone physical volumes through traditional outlets such as Amazon
  • shorter fiction which appears in collections and anthologies already in the WWEnd database and is available to read for free on Internet websites
  • shorter fiction which appears for free online on Tor.com, Clarkesworld, and Lightspeed Magazine among others
  • traditionally-published non-fiction works which are directly related to the Speculative Fiction genre

So there are rare occasions that a self-pubbed book can get in - award nomination or established author's books - but the emphasis is on traditionally-published books.

Please could you add 'Route 666' edited by David Pringle (note this is the short story collection in the Dark Future setting, not the novel by the same name, in the same setting by Jack Yeovil)

Review ready to go, links here;

Could you also add Spindle (also titled the Kingdom of Sleep) by Johnston. It's Volume 2 after A thousand nights. Thanks!

It's in. I enjoyed Johnston's Ahsoka. A very good S.W. novel.

Hello! In the category of Genre Non-Fiction, could you please add Asteroid Mining 101 by John Lewis, and Rocks from Space by O. Richard Norton? If that's possible. Thank you!

These are all in. I find it interesting that two teacher/writers, on opposite side of the world, are both coming out with post-apocalyptic works. I guess it says something about the times.

I believe you need to reread the FAQ concerning requests. Neither of these are something we'd list.

I am wondering if someone could add Cinda Williams Chima to the database. She has quite a number of books. The series I am going to be reading are:

Heir Chronicles:
1. The Warrior Heir (2006)
2. The Wizard Heir (2007)
3. The Dragon Heir (2008)
4. The Enchanter Heir (2013)
5. The Sorcerer Heir (2014)

Seven Realms
1. The Demon King (2009)
2. The Exiled Queen (2010)
3. The Gray Wolf Throne (2011)
4. The Crimson Crown (2012)

Sorry there are so many.

Heir Chronicles:
Seven Realms

These are in.

I also put in the first two books in the Shattered Realms series since it's in the Seven Realms universe.

Also, with this sort of fantasy, I have little idea how to mark it's sub-genre tags, so If you (and everyone else who read them) will mark that, it'll help everyone find similar works.
