Random quote: "A lot of the people who read a bestselling novel, for example, do not read much other fiction. By contrast, the audience for an obscure novel is largely composed of people who read a lot. That means the least popular books are judged by people who have the highest standards, while the most popular are judged by people who literally do not know any better. " -- The Economist - (Added by: Acknud) |

New User Posts: 4 | Could you please add "This Time of Darkness" and "The Winds of Mars" by Helen Mary Hoover? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/597342.This_Time_of_Darkness https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/597344.The_Winds_of_Mars This author actually wrote a bunch of scifi for children. This Time of Darkness opened up the whole new world of scifi to me as a kid!

Elite Veteran Posts: 1033 Location: UK | Hi,Uberusers, who slave away adding books for us to tick offfor our bookshelves.I dont want to seem mischievious, but is there any hope of adding Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and Virgil's Aeniad to our ''shelf''.How many hundreds of books have derived their plots and characters from these ancient books? It would be so nice if they could be added, but I fully understand why they havent been added previously, but thought I would ask anyway. I am so enjoying a reread of the Aeneid at the moment. Lots of gods and goddesses,,views from Mount Olympus and the like.,Scylla and Charibdis,Neptune rising from the waves etc etc. Just thought I'd ask!

I was so sure we already had those that I looked them up. Really surprised to find they aren't in already as they're some of my favorite books of all time. They definitely belong in the DB so if an Uber doesn't pick those up soon I'll get 'em added myself. Thanks for the request!

Veteran Posts: 145 Location: Alief, TX | can we please add the fifth in the Holmes & Stoker series by Colleen Gleason, titled The Zeppelin Deception? Thanks While we're there, it's not really my thing, but Ms. Gleason has actually written some 40 books or so, and most if not all involve vampires. There's bound to be someone on the site who loves them.

There's bound to be someone on the site who loves them. The Zeppelin Deception is in. As to the other point, since nobody has asked... And if they're that numerous, they're more like a project, rather than simple addition of titles; projects get taken on by those who want them, and if nobody had asked...
