Synopsis
World Fantasy Award winning novelette. It originally appeared in the anthology Shadows 5 (1982), edited by Charles L. Grant, and was reprinted in Nightmare Magazine, February 2014. The story can also be found in the anthology Mythic Journeys (2019), edited by Paula Guran.
