The Hour of the Dragon

Conan: Berkley: Book 1

Robert E. Howard

This book contains the only Robert Howard novel published during his lifetime, 'The Hour of the Dragon.' In this epic, Conan fights to recover the throne of Aquilonia from Nemedian invaders aided by the Acheronian wizard Xaltoltun. This edition also includes 'The Hyborian Age,' a description of the times and lands that Conan was familiar with.

The People of the Black Circle

Conan: Berkley: Book 2

Robert E. Howard

The People of the Black Circle is one of the original novellas about Conan the Cimmerian, written by American author Robert E. Howard and first published in Weird Tales magazine in three parts over the September, October and November 1934 issues. Howard earned $250 for the publication of this story.

It's set in the pseudo-historical Hyborian Age and concerns Conan kidnapping an exotic princess from Vendhya (prehistoric India), while foiling a nefarious plot of world conquest by the Black Seers of Yimsha. Due to its epic scope and atypical Hindustan flavor, the story is considered an undisputed classic of Conan lore and is often cited by Howard scholars as one of his best tales.

Red Nails

Conan: Berkley: Book 3

Robert E. Howard

Conan the Cimmerian (Barbarian) is back in this tale of adventure, love, and magic. One of the strangest stories ever written-the tale of a barbarian adventurer, a woman pirate, and a weird roofed city inhabited by the most peculiar race of men ever spawned.
